"Hi there, I’m Penny and run I Stedsans, a small business offering an ever changing collection of vintage and restored mid-century Scandinavian sofas and armchairs. I love the process of seeking out these hidden design gems and working with skilled upholsterers and furniture restorers to bring them back to life. 

The pieces date from the 1930s through to the 1970s and come in all shapes, sizes and styles, from the embracing curves of the 30s banana sofas through to the low-rise clean angled lines of the 60s collection.

All of the pieces come with authentic design heritage, each is unique – to be treasured, lived with and passed on, and be your future heirlooms. We also offer bespoke restoration of the vintage frames which allows you to choose your own fabric and create your very own mid-century original.

“Stedsans” is one of those wonderful untranslatable Danish words – the closest we can get in English is ‘sense of place’. That’s what I hope to help you create in your home. By choosing a piece of furniture with its own identity, its own story, you can bring a sense of place home with you.
