Knitting Needle Lane

"Hello - I'm Camilla Carter, I have been knitting myself since the age of seven and now I am the creator behind and owner of Knitting Needle Lane, which has been established since 2017.

We first started out selling on Cambridge Market every Sunday come rain or shine and have since become known to be Cambridge's truly local and independent online yarn shop. We sell craft supplies, kits and subscriptions and are proud to offer only the softest of yarns - stocking both mainstream brands as well as our own hand-dyed and specialist yarns that come in various colourways.

During the long periods of lockdown in 2020 I did a lot of crafting and was inspired to add a 'Handmade With Love' section to the website. Here you can find a collection of finished makes including knitted hats, socks, shawls and fabric bunting.

In 2021, we have launched our Etsy shop and I also joined forces with Jemma Arrowsmith (Under The Olive Tree Knits) to launch the virtual Cambridge Craft Festival. The festival will run on social media twice a year until it is safe to have a solid venue and regular events again. Find out more here!

Knitting Needle Lane has a high social media presence and has also won awards for excellent customer service. As well as selling yarns, supplies and handmade pieces we also faciliate workshops and offer a 'Send & Mend' service for fixing garments.

Our workshops provide you with a unique opportunity to nuture the wonderful mindfullness of your craft and are currently running virtually via Zoom. Find out more and see what is in store over on our website and come follow along on Instagram!" — CAMILLA
