“Born and bred in Cambridge, only straying to Newcastle for my degree in Graphic Design, I now work full time as a professional printmaker and illustrator.
My work is inspired by patterns in nature such as skeletal winter trees, pebbles, seed heads and the birds I see on my daily dog walks. I also incorporate chine-collé, silver leaf and relief printing into some of my drypoint prints.
I have a range of cards, coasters and screen-printed tea towels which I supply to many shops, including Anglesey Abbey and Wicken Fen. My printmaking work can be found in galleries around the country and locally including VK Gallery and Haddenham Galleries.
I also work as a freelance illustrator for the stationery industry and have had numerous designs published by Flamingo Paperie (formerly Phoenix Trading) and Green Pebble. I have participated in Cambridge Open Studios every year since 1996.” — ALISON
